Интересно, что для заселения Америки даются новые даты; из моих (сравнительно новых) учебников я был уверен что сейчас общепринятая датировка - ~15000 лет назад, а тут почти в два раза раньше, и длинная сноска о новых данных.

Всем, наверное, баян, а мне откровение: Малая Земля рассказал вчера о сказке Чуковского, которая была написана в 1942м, запрещена в ‘44м и с тех пор не печаталась. Сказка называется Одолеем Бармалея, про ВОВ:

Это все хахаха, конечно, но вчера я нашел страничку, которая включала мне вентилятор в компе. Там какие-то скрипты были (реклама какая-нибудь замысловатая? я не стал выяснять), которые пожирали процессорное время как динозавр после скачек. Стоило мне ее открыть, как буквально через минуту с жутким воем включался вентилятор. Я полвечера потратил, чтобы понять, что происходит.

Via the Strange Maps blog - весьма замечательный! Weeks’ worth of browsing, including a simplified map of London, a map of SF 1906 quake, a map of the coming apocalypse and a lot more goodies. Кстати, тоже на WordPress-е, но почему-то отображается у меня криво.

Интересная штука - карты. В спорах об абсолютности научного знания самые яркие примеры относительности науки обычно берутся из картографии.
